Confidence is more than a buzzword. It's the engine that powers us towards the realization of our dreams. It’s the fuel that carries ideas from conception to reality.
A lack of confidence can make life feel like an uphill battle, and not the magical journey that it actually is.
Whether it’s doubt about the direction you are taking in life, caring too much about the perception others have toward us, or the inability to communicate effectively, the absence of confidence has a noticeably negative effect on our quality of life.
Anyone can develop superhuman confidence, however. Self-doubt typically comes from a lack of self-awareness and autonomy, issues that are rectified through mindfulness practices.
Laying the First Stone: Self-Acceptance
Building confidence is a process, not an overnight transformation. It's akin to constructing a house, involving various crucial elements, each playing a pivotal role.
The foundation stone of building confidence is self-acceptance.1
It's essential to acknowledge our unique blend of strengths and weaknesses so you know what you need to work on. What separates winners from losers is often their ability to accept shortcomings and the determination to grow despite them.
By acknowledging our flaws, we foster resilience and humility, thereby emboldening our spirit.
The capacity to look in the mirror, embrace the reflection, and vow to improve empowers our journey toward confidence and success.
Brick by Brick: Skill Acquisition
While confidence is mostly an inside (mental) job, it does requires you to hone your physical skills. Think of a massive castle where each brick represents a skill or accomplishment. The more bricks you have, the sturdier your confidence building becomes.
Whether it's mastering the art of public speaking, or conquering the world of coding, each acquired skill fortifies your self-belief. So, don't shy away from the grind. Embrace it. Bask in the challenge, and celebrate every victory, however small.
Confidence was easier to achieve when everyone had to either develop useful skills or perish. Physical and mental mastery builds confidence automatically. One of the problems with our current society is it has allowed so many of us to just kind of float through life in a bubble, not really developing any means of providing palpable value.
Subconsciously, this destroys self-confidence. The more you work on your Self, the easier it will be to show confidence. This is not to say that you need to become some kind of savant in the arts or an expert on how to repair everything. Sure, these skills can’t hurt, but it’s more about focusing on what we’re good at and doubling down on the full range of our abilities.
This can mean everything from knowledge in an enriching subject, street experience, the ability to explain a certain subject very well, or even developing a healthy life routine and sticking to it consistently. As long as you are working your body and mind to a fruitful end, it will help with building confidence.2
The Reinforcing Iron Rods: Practice & Preparation
Just like iron rods reinforce a structure, practice and preparation reinforce confidence. They form the backbone that supports your developing self-belief. When you are well-prepared, you perform with a higher degree of competence. And, with repeated successful execution, comes an ingrained belief in your ability to succeed.
This is why Olympic athletes practice relentlessly or why musicians rehearse tirelessly. They understand that the pathway to exuding confidence is paved with meticulous preparation and relentless practice.
To put it another way, one reason why so many people lack confidence is because they don’t put the work in.
Confidence is a natural byproduct of understanding, whether it’s self-knowledge or expertise in a given subject or activity. Leaders come prepared. They do the homework. They stay up that extra hour.
Put the right amount of energy into what you’re doing and you will be confident in your ability.
The Cement: Positive Affirmations
Cement binds the bricks together in a construction, and likewise, positive affirmations bind together all the components of confidence building.
By constantly feeding your mind with affirmative and uplifting thoughts, you rewire your brain to cultivate a positive outlook. This helps you spot opportunities while focusing on what matters.
When you affirm your worth, your ability, and your potential, you reinforce the belief that you are capable and deserving of manifesting your dreams.
An issue that seems universal among those who lack confidence is that they are too busy focusing on the negative (whether it’s real or imagined).
Fill out a job application and wondering why you haven’t heard back in a week. Posting on social media and wondering why no one is commenting. Thinking up a cool idea and wondering if anyone will believe in it.
This is all negative behavior that naturally ceases when you practice positive thinking and affirmations. Doers don’t have time to care about the whys or the whims of random people. They are too busy building, learning, and developing an indomitable force of will.
Positive affirmations aren’t a trick or form of denial. They simply help us develop a healthy mindset that is focused on things that will actually help us grow and accomplish our goals in life.
When you think about thoughts and their purpose, it really seems silly to entertain negative ideas or focus on what other people think. These low vibration behaviors sap our strength and confidence, and always lead to a poorer quality of life.
Write down a list of positive affirmations that help you stay focused on your goals and that help build your confidence. Over time the repetition of these affirmations will lead to an embodiment of the ideals, which will translate into positive action in the physical world.
The Finishing Touch: Perseverance
Lastly, we have perseverance - the coat of paint that gives the final touch to the confidence edifice.
Remember, life is not a straight road but a meandering pathway littered with obstacles. Yet, each setback overcome hardens our resolve and fuels our confidence. In persevering, we prove to ourselves that we’re capable, resilient, and, above all, confident.
Building confidence is akin to crafting a sculpture - it's a meticulous, time-consuming, and often challenging process. However, each stroke of the chisel, each tiny tweak, brings you closer to the masterpiece that is your ideal reality.
One of the main reasons why the average person never truly gets what they want out of life is because they lack perseverance. They try something once or twice then give up. Sometimes it takes a comedic level of forceful perseverance to enact our will upon the world.
Many of the most famous athletes, writers, directors, CEOs, artists, and other stars faced incredible odds and multiple set-backs to get where they are. You hear about the Fortune 500 company founder but not the dozen failed business ventures before that. The big name actor in the latest blockbuster but not the fact that they got their start living out of their car and playing extras on day time soap operas.
There is a wide gulf between what a confident individual will endure for greatness and what an ordinary person will put up with before calling it quits, often out of self-doubt and negative thoughts.
If you want to develop confidence and build the life you want, get ready to take an active, rather than passive stance in your own life. Confident people go up to bat for themselves and aren’t afraid of striking out multiple times before getting where they want to go.
Superhuman Confidence and Powerful Will in Action
When you harness the power of superhuman confidence and the force of a resolute will, life transforms into a breathtaking tapestry, radiant with possibilities and brimming with vibrancy. These two elements infuse you with a magnetic energy, enabling you to see the beauty in every circumstance, to seize every opportunity, and to conquer every challenge with a compelling grace.
A New Lens to View Life
Confidence acts as a powerful lens, altering the way you perceive the world around you. It allows you to see opportunities where others see obstacles, and solutions where others see problems. It paints life in brighter colors, illuminating paths that once seemed obscure and rendering challenges as mere stepping stones towards success.
I remember how dull the world was before I adopted a healthy mindset and started going out and putting my force of will to good use.
Life without autonomy and confidence feels like everything works against you and is largely random. When you let go of these largely ego- and victim-based thoughts, you realize the world is your oyster and that anything is within your grasp.
A Catalyst for Success
Confidence coupled with a powerful will is the ultimate catalyst for success. It energizes your ambitions and accelerates your journey towards achieving your goals.
With unwavering confidence, the loftiest dreams don't just remain figments of imagination but transmute into tangible targets, waiting to be achieved by the sheer force of your will. I have seen this in my own life as well as friends from multiple walks of life.
You have no idea what you’re capable of until you call reality’s bluff and start acting like you are promised the world.
A Resilient Shield
Superhuman confidence also acts as a resilient shield, protecting you from the darts of self-doubt, criticism, and failure. What damages or stops other people will bounce off of you effortlessly.
The sting of setbacks and the echoes of naysayers are buffered by this robust armor of self-belief. Every “no” is perceived not as a door shut, but as a detour towards an even more fitting “yes.”
The Pull of Positivity
The combination of confidence and a powerful will creates a magnetic field of positivity around you.
It's a pull that not only attracts opportunities but also inspires others. You become a beacon of hope, ambition, and resilience, illuminating the path for those around you.3
A Symphony of Balance
Living with superhuman confidence and a powerful force of will isn't about charging blindly or bulldozing through life. Instead, it’s about living truthfully, honestly, and in the seat of your power.
It enables you to dream big yet stay grounded, to be ambitious yet empathetic, and to be determined yet flexible. It's about navigating life with an unwavering self-belief, a robust resolve, and a heart full of grace.
This lifestyle is open to everyone. You can let go of doubt and fear, but it does require self-reflection and real work. Let this be your signal to start.
Great mental schisms are created through denial of Self. The ego will fight hard to admit any weaknesses or shortcomings, yet it’s this acceptance of such imperfections that allows the real You to flourish and develop unbeatable superhuman confidence.
It is so important in this life not to be idle or expectant. There is a mechanism built into this realm that actually punishes idle hands and expectant thoughts. While the energy dynamics of this would require its own article, the TLDR basically boils down to a combination of stagnant energy, no outlet to process karma (no growth), and attachment to a future that doesn’t yet exist, which subconsciously reinforces your current state of lack. The idle way of life is often associated with sin and spiritual emptiness because it is indeed a black path, spiritually dead. Idle expectant living breeds spiritual stagnation and negative energy.
The ultimate goal of superhuman confidence is to become such a dynamo that you are not only able to better your own circumstances, but better the circumstances of those in your orbit.
